 My name is Jean DeMerritt. I was born in Norman, Oklahoma on September 5, 1970 to Joseph and Charlotte Schiel. I grew up in Artesia, New Mexico where I met and married my true love, Stan DeMerritt. My husband and I moved to Plainview, Texas in 1993 for him to attend Wayland Baptist University. Once settled in Plainview, I also enrolled at Wayland Baptist University to pursue an education degree. Along the way Stan and I were blessed with two wonderful children - Samuel and Leigh. I graduated from Wayland in May 2000 with a BSIS. I began my career at Carr Middle School in August 2003 teaching 6th grade Reading and Science. Since 2004, I have taught 5th and 6th grade Science. I am currently the cheerleader sponsor and the Science club sponsor.
