8th grade science is an exciting mixture of chemistry, physical
science and biology. It allows students to deepen their
knowledge of astronomy, geology, meteorology, oceanography,
chemistry, environmental issues, genetics, force and
motion. Students will utilize lab investigations, group activities,
interactive websites, scientific problem-solving skills
and independent study to explore these topics. Emphasis is
placed on human activities and natural events that impact
Earth systems, such as the nitrogen and water cycles.
Students study the history of science and the contributions of
individual scientists.
